At just 11 years old, Lindsay Park has already made major moves as a competitive dancer. She’s won multiple dance scholarships and continues to rank high in national dance competitions alongside Independence Dance Company. Lucky for Lindsay, she doesn’t find too much difficulty with dance because working hard to reach her goals is all a part of what she loves about it. With hopes to one day dance professionally, so far Lindsay’s on just the right track to reach her dreams. Read our interview with her below to see how this miniBISH is tearing up the dance scene.

How did you get into dance? What’s your favorite part about it?
I got into dance because my mom was a dancer and wanted me to become one too. A cool thing about this is that she taught me sometimes. My favorite part about dancing is that you can communicate without words and let your body move however you’d like.

What’s your favorite style of dance and why?
My favorite style of dance is contemporary and ballet because they are very technical and are overall just great styles.

What’s the most difficult part about dancing for you?
There’s nothing I really find difficult with dance, unless it’s technical stuff because having good technique is always hard.

Do you ever get nervous before you perform? How do you calm yourself down?
I am always nervous before I go on stage. To calm myself down, I just shake the nerves off and tell myself that I will kill it.

What tips do you have for other girls your age that want to get better at dancing?
I would say to always be the best you can be and never compare yourself to others.

“…I just shake the nerves off and tell myself that I will kill it.”

Do you have any big goals that you want to accomplish with dance that you can tell us about?
I have always wanted to go en pointe which I recently have accomplished, and I would like to be a professional dancer when I grow up.

What has been a favorite performance that you’ve done?
My favorite performance would have to be competing my solo at nationals last year because I think I did very well, and I also got Top 15 which was very exciting.

Do you have any hobbies outside of dancing?
I love to make slime if that counts, but my parents do not. 🙂

Who are some other dancers that you look up to?
I look up to Misty Copeland because she is an outstanding ballerina and is gorgeous when she dances.

What does miniBISH mean to you?
miniBISH for me means that we are powerful and love doing what we do.
