Sex and the City’s Cynthia Nixon, who portrayed Miranda, is reportedly running for New York governor in 2018 as Andrew Cuomo’s opponent.

Nixon has been outspoken about her disagreements with Cuomo’s policies in the past, particularly regarding education. She even negatively compared him to Donald Trump’s Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos. While on The View in April, Nixon said, “Basically, Gov. Cuomo is shortchanging the children of New York state. He is not against public schools but he doesn’t like to pay for them.”
