”Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” Final Season Will Air On September 23rd
The twelfth and final season of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown will close with seven new episodes – five based in specific locations and two specials.
Parts Unknown Season 12 was in production when Bourdain died in France on June 8. The premiere episode, set in Kenya, will only feature Bourdain's trademark narration.
The first special episode will cover “how Anthony Bourdain’s unique perspective and voice altered the world of food, travel, and culture and in the process reinvented how audiences watched television and engaged intimately and actively with the world around them.” The second will showcase “Bourdain’s relationship with his crew, the team that traveled with him and slogged through the trenches,” which was “like no other in his life.”
“We believed early on that Parts Unknown would be an exceptional series with an incomparable host and stellar production team,” Amy Entelis, executive vice president of talent and content development for CNN Worldwide, said in a prepared statement. “We are grateful to have collaborated with such an incredibly talented friend and colleague whose prolific body of work and extraordinary personality touched so many.”
