FLYGRLS LA started as a platform to uplift women in the music community, and their all-female lineup of singers, dancers, and DJ’s create the perfect party cocktail to keep you dancing all night long.
For this installment of FLYGRLS, the folks at SPACELAND, LOVE + MADE, and Ladies First decided to partner with the organization Lightwork to help the Hurricane Harvey victims in Houston. They collected everything from toiletries, to blankets and socks; simple things that many are still struggling to find or afford after losing their homes in the disastrous storm.
It’s hard to keep it positive during tough times, but the FLYGRLS did just that with their music and energy. DJ Smiles got everyone dancing to “Bootylicious” and Honey & Vonkiss played other bangers like “Mask Off” and the throwback “Country Grammar” by Nelly which got the crowd moving. There’s nothing like some good 2000’s music to get the party started!
The highlights of the night were the performances by Quiñ, Emmalyn Estrada, Jessica Reynoso who gave a shout out to Black Eyed Peas’ apl.de.ap in the audience, and the dance crew which tore it up! The talent was undeniable as usual, and the best part about it is that FLYGRLS are always donating proceeds to non-profit organizations that are creating a positive impact in the city, like the Women’s Downtown Center who help women in poverty in Los Angeles, and Lunch On Me, a non-profit organization who help feed the homeless in the L.A. community. Don’t miss out on the next party and follow @flygrlsla to stay in touch.
