Since the March opening of its Santa Monica store, Nasty Gal headquarters has been looking for its next big project, thus comes #GirlBoss Radio. Recorded straight out of a studio next to founder Sophia Amoruso's office, that was converted from a storage closet, #GirlBoss Radio features inspiring stories and advice from Amoruso's personal friends and other women who have excelled in their field, a notion that us at MISSBISH hold very close to our hearts.  Starting with a bang, her first guest was Charlize Theron, followed by comedian and YouTube personality Grace Helbig, next guest is set to be Madeline Poole, Sally Hansen's global color ambassador. In true Amoruso fashion she wanted to ensure she did it to the highest possible standard, she studied numerous books on podcasting, and anyone who has looked into broadcasting knows it can be extremely overwhelming.

So, Amoruso was put in touch with Panoply, a podcast network owned by the Slate Group, lending their expertise on everything, even down to which microphone to buy. Another hurdle Amoruso faced was being the interviewer rather than the interviewee, saying “I’m lucky it’s not a live show. It’s not like there’s a bunch of crickets and downtime. There’s a natural conversation, but I’m really kind of winging it and there’s a little bit of editing that happens, but not much. But I genuinely am curious about the people I’m talking to and hope I’m not asking too obvious questions, I’m learning to extract advice from different women.”

If what she built Nasty Gal into, from selling vintage items on eBay into what it is today, is anything to go by, #GirlBoss Radio is set to be a huge success. However for now, #GirlBoss Radio show is focusing on getting off the ground, with more tweaks and additions understandably being made to the programming as both new episodes are recorded and it gains greater momentum. Creating the #GirlBoss brand into a media company, from Amoruso's original book is definitely something that is on her mind. However, no formal plans are yet made as Amoruso explains, “I’m trying to figure that out. It’s a whole new world for me. I would love to build something out of Girlboss. What it is, I’m not sure yet.”
