As if Jaden Smith doesn’t already have an impressive résumé, he can now add being the first and only male to be featured solo on the cover of NYLON magazine.

The 18-year old actor, musician, and model has been using his platform to redefine how we see masculinity and femininity as whole. While some see him wearing skirts as a “bad joke” – these actions are, in reality, quite political.  In the interview, he talks about his decision to model for Louis Vuitton womenswear in order to break stereotypes so that  "in five years when a kid goes to school wearing a skirt, he won't get beat up and kids won't get mad at him. I’m taking the brunt of it so that later on, my kids and the next generations of kids will all think that certain things are normal that weren’t expected before my time."

Smith genuinely believes that his actions have the potential to make a significant difference in society, and says that “the world is going to keep bashing me for whatever I do and I’m going to keep not caring" - a fearless attitude and insight that's slowly but surely broadening the way we define masculinity for the better.
