Love Made Files a Lawsuit Against Victoria’s Secret for “Love Made Me Do It” Tagline
Uh-oh. More legal troubles loom for Victoria’s Secret. The lingerie brand is reportedly being sued by Los Angeles-based collective Love Made over VS’s use of Love Made’s trademarked “Love Made Me Do It” slogan.
The slogan has appeared on numerous Love Made items like apparel and a neon sign, and a hero image on the collective’s website. According to the lawsuit, VS has taken this slogan and used it for marketing and merchandise purposes, including the use of it on a bag and store signage.
The move comes as a larger statement made by Love Made’s founder, Linda Nguyen. She filed the lawsuit, in part, to empower other independent artists to stand up against mass market brands partaking in copyright infringement.
