M.I.A. has unveiled the merch collection for the AIM world tour, made in collaboration with Astrid Andersen.
The collection is hip hop and basketball inspired, and features anoraks, track pants, and tees from the Danish designer's Spring 2017 collection. They altered the colorways to match the AIM color scheme, predominantly orange and black. In an interview with Vogue, M.I.A. explained, "I chose to work with Astrid because she is an independent who combines function, sport, simplicity, and futurism."
The AIM collection is available now on M.I.A.'s site, and ranges in price from $70 USD to $160 USD.
@miamatangi, who released her latest album AIM in September of last year and is preparing for a world tour this fall, approached @astridandersens when she decided that it was time for her to get into the music merch game. The resulting collection features signature looks from Andersen’s basketball and hip-hop-inspired Spring 2017 line (in which she showed a few experimental women’s pieces), but reworked to include colors and artwork from M.I.A.’s AIM album.
