During a time that now sees models and celebrities grace the cover of Vogue, there was an era when the now Condé Nast-owned publication covers were more color and canvas than they were exposure and aperture.  One of the elements that established Vogue as the powerhouse voice that it is today, was the publication's early reliance on covers that featured hand-drawn illustrations. Fashion and editorial website WhoWhatWear recently featured what they believed to be the best of Vogue's vintage cover archives. Their curation was a result of sifting through a plethora of covers from the early years of Vogue during the 1900s all the way through the 1980s.
