Before the athleisure trend took over, we bought oversized clothing or wore our big brothers' and boyfriends' sweatshirt and shorts because lets face it, it’s a way more comfortable look. Yet now that the trend has been heavily imitated, it has become difficult to find pieces that don’t look like all the other brands. Loosely fitted, tailored-esque look, comfortable, and flattering is not too much to ask for - is it?
Fortunately, the team over at the Year of Ours agrees it is not. Founded by Eleanor Haycock and Lily Shen, both with extensive experience in the fashion industry, the entire team from branding to designers believe in drawing inspiration from authenticity and sportsmanship to create premium, durable, and style-driven details
Alejandra Hernandez, wardrobe stylist, says “I wanted the first collection to be stripped down to look organic and classic. I also wanted to keep real women’s bodies in mind when designing, such as a sport’s bra with back coverage in certain discrete areas and leggings high enough so they could be worn alone with a sports bra. We really worked hard on the fit to flatter all body types.
