MISSDISH | saaareeee’s Cinnamon Pear Oatmeal Smoothie Recipe
Let me explain: It was a Friday in early November and I was still full from a Thai/Filipino cheat meal I’d had the night before at my all-time favorite restaurant, Pig and Khao. I didn’t feel like eating breakfast but I knew I needed fuel for the day – hence the liquid meal.
We had a few pears lying around that I’d used to decorate our table at a recent dinner party we’d hosted. Using these as a base, I decided to make a smoothie, adding 1/2 cup of oats to give me an extra energy boost. Delicious! You can also add 1/4 cup of oats instead for a lighter smoothie.
What You Need: Serves 1
1 cup almond milk
1/2 cup chopped pear
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats (uncooked)
1 - 2 tbsp. maple syrup
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
pinch of salt
3-4 ice cubes
What To Do:
1. Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse until smooth.
2. If still a little sweet add salt to balance the flavour.
3. Serve immediately.
