After her nearly 10-year tenure at the famed luxury label, creative director Phoebe Philo may soon be leaving Céline. The rumor mill has been churning, and LVMH is said to be interviewing candidates to rebuild the team in preparation for her eventual departure. Among her many accomplishments, Philo most notably turned the floundering brand around and was behind many of the hit handbag designs.
LVMH denies the rumors of Philo's leave but the group didn't deny that the interviews are taking place. Among those close to the brand, there's speculation that replacements could include former Stella McCartney design director Natasa Cagalj, designer director of Céline ready-to-wear Michael Rider, and Victoria Beckham designer director Ilaria Icardi. Sources have claimed that Philo may leave at the close of the year.
