Céline's SS18 collection was all about optimism according to Pheobe Philo, creative director for the brand. "It felt personal to me. I felt like a celebration. If there is anything to say at the moment, let it be with love. Let it be joyful. I couldn't think of anything else to talk about other than something that felt joy," she shared with Vogue.
The collection captured and experimented with Philo's personal fashion gestures, one of which was to put a coat over her shoulders to protect her bag from the rain, which inspired the "double trench" look.
Overall, the looks were not overbearing, with just the right amount of weight and texture distributed throughout the whole collection. The Céline woman leans toward tonal colors and simple shapes with a luxurious execution, and this collection rightfully embodied her in all of its elegance. Check out the collection above.
