The final days of the Obama's in office are winding down and we're not sure if we can handle it. First Lady Michelle Obama delivered an emotional speech, welcoming diversity and all walks of religious lives in what is marked as her final speech before Donald Trump takes office.
"Our glorious diversity—our diversities of faiths and colors and creeds—that is not a threat to who we are, it makes us who we are," said Obama. "If you or your parents are immigrants, know that you are part of a proud American tradition: the infusion of new cultures, talents and ideas, generation after generation, that has made us the greatest country on earth. If you are a person of faith, know that religious diversity is a great American tradition, too ... And whether you are Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh—these religions are teaching our young people about justice and compassion and honesty."
Michelle is known for her compelling speeches, including the one she delivered for former Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton. We will all miss the grace, compassion, dignity, and beauty that is Michelle Obama. Watch the speech below and let us know your thoughts.
